matrioszka 1

Hi,

Matryoshka (rus. матрёшка) is a hollow, wooden figurine, with smaller, smaller, smaller, smaller, smaller and smaller figurines inside.

The shelf above my desk hosts a Matryoshka from an antique shop. It is beautiful, colorful, with all the right imperfections characteristic of hand-made gadgetry. It comes with two missing figurines and this is yet another reason why it is rendered infallibly legendary:)

And one more thing: just like oil-painting, puff pastry, tiramisu and this blog, it’s got layers.

There is evening peace and quiet. Godzuki collapsed surprisingly early tonight, so early it has suddenly left me with insane volumes of empty space to fill in with whatever I fancy. To draw or not to draw? To put an end to the inception of chaos in the wardrobe or to prepare an evening meal? Or maybe to do nothing for a change. To be. To look into the distance, to listen intently to the sounds of the house (even if they are dominated by the snoring pug exhausted by her lazy afternoon in the garden. A couch potato felled by the obscenity of the all-encompassing fresh air).

No drawing. No cleaning. No cooking.

I am. I’m listening. I'm looking into the distance.

And there I find an absolutely phenomenal sunset. It turns out that no seas or distant and foreign lands give me what I can find here at home.

I let go of grabbing the phone/camera to snap it into the digital memory. Instead, I absorb every second of the changing colours until darkness closes on the spectacle. Only then do I reach for the computer and in the digital cloud I find my album with pictures of the sky.

I invite you to the second entry with a hashtag skyporn from the place where the sky is the most beautiful: from home.

The sky behind a net, but what wouldn’t you do for the cats ...

Today's sunset was similar to this, only that at this time of the year the ball of light is visible in its entirety - it hides behind the horizon exactly between the buildings

Because not only the sunsets are beautiful here

The Storm. It usually comes from the left, bypasses the city in a wide arc and leaves us without a drop of rain

„Mygła" („mgła” in Polish), as the three-year-old Emski used to say, i.e. #skyporn in the hide & seek edition. Only after uploading the photo here, it turned out that at the bottom of the fog there is not only a building, but also my phone reflected in the window:/

I turn the order of the day: first it was evening, then the noon, and now time for the dawn. You cannot see it in the photo, but even though the windows face west, we also watch sunrises - reflected in the windows of the buildings opposite.
